Happy Fall Y’all!

After finally getting back into a blogging groove, the stomach bug and a couple of trips out of town knocked me out of it again. Hopefully back soon, but, for now, kids in costumes.

And, a mention that kids grow way too fast!

Happy Fall Y’all!

Ella was not much in the mood for pictures at the fall festival (she’d been sick pretty much the whole week before, and was still very tired), but I loved her costume – it was perfect for her considering how much she loves her sock monkey. Troy went as a “mini-me” of my husband – do you think they look alike?

Hot Glue

Today was Ella's first Halloween. I decided fairly last minute that I'd get her a costume (and I'm glad I did!) but because I waited so late, I couldn't find anything in her size. When I found her "pea in a pod" costume, I really thought it was good for her (especially since she was "Lima" for so long to us). The only problem with the costume is that it was way too small. Oddly enough, it was a 6-9 month size (and she's just now 9 months old) but her legs didn't come close to fitting in the suit. So, I cut leg holes out of the bottom, and ended up having to hot glue the inside lining to the outside fur so it wouldn't fray. While I'm glad it ended up looking pretty cute, I really wish that I had the skills to sew it, but then again, maybe I don't need to learn to sew - all I really needed was the hot glue!

Little Lima Bean

Before Ella was born, she was "Lima". My husband thought she looked like a lima bean on my first ultrasound (when I was only seven weeks along), and the name stuck. When searching for Halloween costumes, I came across this "pea in a pod". After much consideration, I thought this costume would fit my "Lima" perfectly! Reeses couldn't resist getting a lick of Ella's face :)
This photo is my entry into I Heart Faces "Halloween Dress-Up".
